Conference Information

KnightMUN has always strived to make it easy for advisors and students to easily navigate campus. KnightMUN XXIII will be hosted at UCF Global with Opening and Closing Ceremonies being hosted inside Classroom Building II, right next to the ROTC building. In order to get to one from the other you will need to cross Memory Mall as they are right across from each other. The UCF Campus is very pedestrian friendly with most of the important amenities being located within the inner UCF loop. You can click the button below to download the full map provided by UCF Parking Services

CONFERENCE LOCATION

UCF Parking Services provides daily parking permits virtually through the UCF Parking Services Portal for $8 which will allow you to park in the student parking lots and garages which are labeled in Green on the UCF Campus Map. It is recommended to park in Garage D and Parking Lot D2 which are very close to UCF Global and the conference. You will only need the Daily Parking Permit for the first day of the conference only but it is recommended you get one if you are parking on campus as Parking Services will ticket you for $25 if you park without a permit. If you are traveling by coach bus you can get close to UCF Global through Lot D1 but you will have to park at a different location which will be communicated a day prior to the conference.

CONFERENCE PARKING

In our General Assembly committees all resolution writing will be done on technology. We recommend that all delegates bring a laptop or tablet in order to write resolutions. Technology will not be allowed in our Crisis or Specialized committees. All directives and crisis notes will be written on legal pads provided by KnightMUN. Delegates in all committees are encouraged to bring sticky notes and writing utensils to pass notes to other delegates!

We will let advisors know if we find any delegate using technology when they are not supposed to or if instances of prewriting are uncovered.

COMMITTEE POLICIES

KnightMUN XXIII will also have an Ad-hoc General Assembly and Crisis like KnightMUN XXII. The background guide for the General Assembly Ad-hoc will be provided 24 hours prior to the conference while the Crisis Ad-hoc will be provided in committee. Delegates will be given a reading period prior before the start of committee to read the background guide.

General Assembly Committees this year will be accepting background guides which will have a separate award for it. Position Papers are not required for any of the GA Committees

KNIGHTMUN MERCHANDISE

KnightMUN XXIII is proud to say that we are expanding our inventory of conference merchandise. This year we will be selling Candygrams, Stickers, and Pens (We also have something else planned but you'll have to wait and see). Candygrams are read aloud in committee and because of that if a note is deemed to not be appropriate then it will be sent back or not read at all.

The scoring matrix for awards will be released after the conference has concluded. General Assembly will have Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, Honorable Delegate, Verbal Commendation, and Position Paper Awards. The General Assembly Ad-hoc will have 3 Best Delegates and 3 Verbal Commendation Awards. Crisis and Specialized will only have Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, Honorable Delegate, and Verbal Commendation Awards. The Crisis Ad-hoc will have 3 Best Delegates and 3 Verbal Commendation Awards.

We will have 4 delegation awards: Outstanding Small Delegation, Best Small Delegation, Outstanding Large Delegation, and Best Large Delegation. The determination between Large and Small Delegations will be communicated once registration is closed. Each session delegates will be scored based on how they performed during that session. Delegation Awards will be determined by the total amount of points scored by each delegate in a delegation, in the event of a tie between two delegations it will be determined by the total amount of point of the total amount of delegates in the delegation.
